Kitty Fox

Kitty Pride aka Shadow Cat had a small background role in the first installment of the X-Men franchise. She was first played by Sumela Kay and like I said before is just a background character.

In the second installment Kitty is played by Katie Stuart and has a slightly larger part where we actually get to see her power of fazing through objects,

In the third installment we finally get to Ellen Page who is the only actress to play Kitty consecutively. She is a more prominent character in the movie. We get to see her be a part of the X-Men team and help them fight against the Brother Hood. She interacts a lot more with the other characters and he role looks very promising, despite the chaos in the rest of the movie.

The most recent appearance of Kitty was in X-Men: Days of Future Past. She was the one to send Wolverine's consciousness into the past to change it and reboot the franchise.

Unfortunately this means we more than likely see Ellen in the Kitty Pride role any longer. But there is always hope that she may make a cameo somewhere along the way. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Rachel Dawes

Rachel Dawes is the childhood friend/love interest of Bruce Wayne. She is introduced in Batman Begins, directed by Christopher Nolan, and is played by Katie Holmes. She is a lawyer and Bruce's last connection to humanity. She learns that he is Batman and doesn't want the responsibility of keeping him grounded.

In the second installment of the Nolan trilogy, The Dark Knight, Rachel is played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She's still one of the best lawyers in Gotham and is helping Harvey Dent aka Two-Face bring major crime bosses to justice. She still isn't interested in being Bruce Wayne's crutch (even though Bruce somehow think she'll wait for him...how and why???) But, like all good things, Rachel must come to an end.

It's unclear where, or if, we will see Rachel next, Maybe or maybe not Gotham (TV). But don't let that stop all of you from having a good week!

Marvel's Pepper

Pepper Potts first appears in Iron Man played by Gwneyth Paltrow and directed by Jon Favreau. She is the assistant to Tony Stark love interest (but that comes more in the second movie). She is smart and quick witted and can take anything that Tony throws at her as ridiculous as she finds his ideas. And she is strong business woman that gets what she needs done no matter who she has to deal with.

In Iron Man 2 she is still a big part of Tony's help behind the scenes while he's Iron Man and in his company, which she is now in charge of.

She makes a small appearnece in The Avengers. Here she helps Tony gather info on his fellow avengers.

Iron Man 3 is where she gets her biggest role. She is kidnapped my the baddie and turned into a kind of super soldier but with a nuclear explosive potential. We get to see her do some cool fighting as she defeats the baddie and saves Tony. Of course they reverse the change so she doesn't explode, but it was fun while it lasted.

Pepper won't be appearing in Civil War and with there being no more Iron Man movies we probably won't be seeing her again. But, again, it was nice while it lasted. Have a great week everyone!

Fox's Storm

Storm aka Ororo Munroe makes her cinematic entrance in X-Men played by Halle Berry and directed by Bryan Singer. And it isn't a pretty one. She doesn't have much to do in any of the movies nor is she important to the plot. Just like she made that horrible Catwoman movie, she is a horrible Storm. So we won't go into every movie because her performance is the same in all. Something happens and she reacts but doesn't do much and her line delivery is awful.

Luckily we don't have to deal with that anymore. Thanks to the X-Men: Days of Future Past reset we will be getting a new actress to play Storm. And hopefully she will give us the Storm we deserve. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Silky Smooth DC pt.2

Silk Specter II aka Laurie Jupiter jumps onto the big screen in Watchmen, directed by Zack Snyder, and is played by Malin Akerman. And I must say again that this is one of the most perfectly cast movies I have ever seen. Although I do have a few problems with how they handled Laurie by taking away some of her lines and giving them to other characters. Overall she transitioned from page to screen seamlessly. She is a very strong woman with a dark past that looms over her. She is the daughter of Sally Jupiter aka Silk Specter and Eddie Blake aka The Comedian (although this isn't officially confirmed until the last half of the movie). So naturally she was raised to also be a vigilante just like her parents. We see her grow as she over comes the fear of her origins while trying to get her life together as the world is facing chaos and potential destruction.
Movies: the only place you can jump into a burning building and not get frizzy hair

This is the only time we'll see Laurie on the big screen, unless they decide to make a Before Watchman mini series or something. Until then, we can only dream. Have a great week everyone!

Marvel's 2nd in Command

Maria Hill is introduced is The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon and Maria is played by Cobie Smulders. Here she is introduced as one of Nick Fury's top agents along side Coulson, Romanoff and Barton. She is his second in command and is in charge of the other agents. We don't know that much about her in this installment, but she will continue to show up in the movies as assistant to Nick and a great ally to the Avengers.
I wish my uniform was that cool

Maria has more air time in Captain America: Winter Soldier directed by the Russo brothers. She has some small scenes where she is at the staged death of Nick Fury and where she helps Nat, Steve and Sam Wilson aka Falcon. She is the one that hid Fury after he was attacked to keep him safe. The fact that she was the one entrusted to do so shows just how loyal she is to Fury and how much trust he has for her. We finally get to see her in action when she fights off HYDRA (the main bad guys in the Captain America movies) agents while monitoring the teams progress in the assault on S.H.E.I.L.D.S. headquarters. At the end of the movie Fury sends her to get a job at Stark Industries to keep an eye on that part of the team.
Loyalist team member

The next movie we see Maria in is Avengers: Age of Ultron directed by Joss Whedon. We see her at a party with the other Avengers talking with James Rhodes aka War Machine, Tony and Thor. She also helps to evacuate citizens from Sokovia while the Avengers fight Ultron. And that's all we see of her in the movie.
Fashion agent

It's unclear whether Maria will appear in the next set of movies, but I hope she does and that we are able to explore her character a little more. Until then, have a great week everyone!

The Rogue of Fox

Rogue or Marie makes her first appearance in the first X-Men movie played by Anna Paquin and directed by Bryn Singer. We see her discover her power in this movie, which is the ability to absorb the power of life force of people through touch. When she runs away from home she meets Wolverine and through fascinating events she ends up at Xavier's School of Gifted Children aka mutant academy. In this first installemnt she's a scared girl that doesn't think she'll ever find her place in life. She doesn't understand or want her power and wishes that none of this had happened.
Lost Puppy
In X2, directed by Bryan Singer, Rouge is a little more comfortable with herself and her powers. But she still struggles with the fact that she can never touch her boyfriend Bobby, Iceman, without hurting him. She gets to use her powers a little more in this installment, but it is still very apparent that she doesn't want them and can't connect to people because of them. But she has so much potential to be a great member of the team if she could use her powers properly.
She makes it look good

In X-Men: The Last Stand, directed by Brett Ratner, all that potential is thrown out the window. A cure for the mutant gene is discovered and marketed and Rogue is one of the ones that takes it. She could have brought so much to the team but she was thrown away. Luckily we got a rest for the fanchie and we can potentially get the Rogue that we deserve.
Why!?
The next and most recent appearance of Rogue was in the Rogue cut of X- Men: Days of Future Past, directed by Bryan Singer. Here she takes over for Kitty (sending Wolverines consciousness to the past) after Wolverine scratches her. This shows just how much she can be a help to the team and that she is worth so much and her power isn't a horrible thing. With the rest that this movie provides we may finally get the Rogue that we deserve and that the X-Men universe needs.
YEESSS
The next time we should see Rogue is in the Gambit movie. But that hasn't been confirmed as of this posting. But she is an important part to Gambits story so she will hopefully appear and be a more powerful and self confident incarnation of herself. Until then, have a great week everyone!

DCs Other Woman

Talia al Gul makes her appearance in the final chapter of Christopher Nolans Batman run in The Dark Knight Rises. Talia infiltrates Bruce Waynes personal life as Miranda Tate to get her revenge for Batman killing her father Ra's al Gul in Batman Begins. She is a character with strong willed and set on her goal of destroying Batman. In the movie she is undercover and starts as a love interest to Bruce Wayne while Catwoman serves as a love interest to Batman. She is then reviled to be the master mind behind Bane and the destruction of Gotham. Her motives are clear and unwavering. She also never lets her feeling get in the way of her goals which is a great treat to have if you're the villain.

Yesssss
If Talia will appear in future Batman movies is unknown, but this was an interesting portrayal of the character. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Marvel's Spell

Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch is the newest addition to the line up in Avengers: Age of Ultron directed by Joss Whedon and she is played my the lovely Elizabeth Olsen. She is an enhanced human and that gives her the powers of telepathy and a pretty red light show. She is the twin of Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver, who has the power of super speed. She is an orphan and starts out on the side of the bad guys, first with her creators, then with Ultron. She struggles to find her place in the world with growing up an orphan and hating Stark Industries for making the weapons that killed her family. But she doesn't hate all of humanity which is why she eventually teams up with the Avengers to go against Ultron and his machine army. She overcomes her fears and learns to forgive throughout the movie. And she also suffers the most when her twin is killed by Ultron while protecting Hawkeye, who helped her get over her fears of not being strong enough to do good. She's a great character that'll really expand the world of Marvel and it'll be fun to see her character develop as we go farther.
Finally some visual powers!

The next time we'll be seeing Wanda will be next year in Captain America : Civil War directed by the Russo brothers. She'll be on Caps team as we saw at the end of the Avengers : Age of Ultron. Hopefully she has a lot of screen time and we'll get to see more of her development. Which she'll come out in the movies after that hasn't been announced, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her in the years ahead. Until then, have a great week everyone!

The Phoenix of Fox

Jean Grey aka The Phoenix first comes out in X-Men (directed by Bryan Singer) and she is played by Famke Jensen. When we are first introduced to her she is only a telekinetic and telepathic. In the first installment she is still learning to control her powers and get stronger. We don't know that much about her other than she lives at the Mutant mansion and teaches there and is also a doctor that is engaged in politics. She is also dating Scott Summers aka Cyclops, but is the interest of Logan aka Wolverine. We do get to see her display her powers in and out of action sequences though. Her character had so much promise going into the next film.
Great costume

In X2 (directed by Bryan Singer) Jean (Famke) has a bit of a bigger role and we see more of her fear about her inability to control her powers. We also see more of Logan going after Jean, but she'll never leave Scott for Logan because she loves Scott and he's a better man for her. Jean dies at the end of the film saving the others and leaving a morning Scott and Logan. This seems to be the end of her but just sit back and wait.
Love the haircut

X-Men:The Last Stand (directed by Brett Ratner) comes around and brings with it Jean (Famke) reborn as the Phoenix. The Phoenix is the super powered version of Jean with her powers at 100%. But she is a changed person and the first thing she does when she comes back is kill Scott, the man that she loved more than anything. Then the rest of the team finds her and she leaves them to go join Magneto in his efforts to kill all of humanity. And while doing so she also kill Professor Charles for wanting to suppress the Phoenix again. Her motivation to do so? She will never fit in with humanity or her former team with her new abilities and the Phoenix doesn't want to be suppressed any longer. We also see a flashback to her childhood when Professor Charles and Erik first went to collect her for the mutant school. In this flashback supposedly Jean had full control of her power and was slightly unhinged so Charles suppressed it creating the split personality of the Phoenix, which is her full range of power. So then she goes about doing her evil thing with Magneto and is killed, again, at the end by non other than Wolverine, at her request. And with her died our chance at an awesome Phoenix story line.
Bad guys get the best outfits

From then on we only see Jean (Famke) is through Wolverine as she haunts him after he leaves the X-Men. She serves more for his character development in The Wolverine directed by James Mangold.
Ghost of Girlfriends Past

Then at the end of X-Men:Days of Future Past (directed by Bryan Singer) we see Jean (Famke) alive again because Wolverine was able to change the past in turn change the future of present and erasing the previous movies.
Yay! Everyone's alive again!

The next time we will see Jean will be in X-Men:Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, next year in May. However this will be a younger version of Jean and will be played by Sophie Turner. Hopefully this new installment will develop Jean more than the previous movies and she won't be as afraid of her powers any more. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Silky Smooth DC pt.1

Silk Specter aka Sally Jupiter takes to the big screen in Watchmen directed by Zack Snyder and is played by Carla Gugino. This has to be one of the most perfectly cast comic book movie adaptations I have ever seen and just the most perfectly cast movie ever. And it also sticks very closely to the comic book itself which is all any fan can ask for. Sally is a wonderfully complex and non-clique character where even though she wears a sexy costume she's not a sex object. What's great is that we get to see her character in the past, through flashbacks, and the present (kinda because the movie takes place 1970-1980). We see her in her early crime fighting days when she was slightly naive and wide-eyed. We see through her the complexities of love and how everything that you feel and think of someone can change over the years with different situations and life choices. We see the older her that loves her daughter more than anything else and wants to protect her but also tries to live through her by having her take up her crime fighting career. Sally is a strong character that manages to shine through the dark, gritty world of Watchmen and carries a large importance in the development of the other character who's lives she's in. And she's one of my favorite characters in the movie and comic.
Best Pin-up Ever
There won't be anymore Watchmen movies, but maybe in the future we'll get a Before Watchmen mini-series or full on TV show. And even if Carla isn't able to reprise the role of Silk Specter it would still be great to see Sally again. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Green Marvel

Gamora makes her cinematic debut in Guardians of the Galaxy directed by James Gunn and she is played Zoe Saldana. She is the adopted daughter of Thanos. So she starts out as a baddie. But she has plans to go against her "father" and his underling Ronan. She is the one that drives the plot and has cool fighting sequences there really isn't much to her character yet. Its nice to see not instantly become a love interest for Peter Quill aka Star Lord, but instead declines his advances repeatedly. Will they eventually get together? Maybe, but it seems it'll happen slower which is a nice change of pace. Her character goes through a quick change from someone who will kill you without a second thought to a soft friendly part of the team. But lets not leave out that many of the other guardians go through the same quick change over the movie. This doesn't take away from the fact that her character is pretty awesome.
Best Mugshot Ever
Gamora is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). We'll hopefully get to see her again in Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2. And hopefully she'll have just as big a role or maybe even a bigger role to play in that one. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Blue Fox

Mystique aka Raven Darkholme is one of the best and most consecutive characters in Fox's X-Men franchise (by consecutive I mean in all of the main movies not that she's played by the same actress ^~^). So the first movie we see Mystique in is X-Men directed by Bryan Singer and Mystique is played by Rebecca Romjin (the first movie in the franchise). She is the super awesome right-hand woman to Magneto, the baddie, and her power is to transform into anyone (the side effect is that her skin is blue, but blue is an awesome color so that just makes everything better ^.^). Anyway in the movie we get to see Mystiques awesome transformation in a couple of sequences where she kidnaps Senator Kelly and her great fighting abilities when she fights Wolverine. Mystique does play a big part in the movie as a main baddie and becomes a fan favorite.
Beautiful eyes

The second movie is X2 directed by Bryan Singer and Mystique is still played by Rebecca. We get to see even more Mystique in this installment. Here Mystique has to play nice with the good guys in order to stop another bad guy that has emerged. We also see more of the relationship between Mystique and Magneto. And we get to see what Mystique looks like without her blue skin and red hair. But we still get cool fight sequences. And we see more of her transformation powers because she has been impersonating Senator Kelly since his death in the first movie and some other humorous scenes involving her transforming ability
Such a great color

The third movies is X-Men: The Last Stand directed by Brett Ratner and this is the last film Mystique is played by Rebecca. This is where things get really crazy because apparently Ratner thought that he was going to be the last person to make an X-Men movie and wanted to end everything and everyone. In this movie Mystique is captured helping Magneto acquire mutants for his army (The Brotherhood) and after her rescue she is shot with the anti-x gene and losses her powers making her useless to Magneto and his efforts so he leaves her. Which is a completely ridiculous thing to do but it happens. And this is the last we see of Mystique (in this movie) until she is seen on a security monitor turning in information as to the whereabouts of Magnetos army to the authorities. But luckily this isn't the end of Mystiques character and she comes back with a vengeance.
Great shade of red

The next movie is X-Men: First Class directed by Matthew Vaughn and now Mystique is played Jennifer Lawrence and this movie takes place before the other X-Men movies. We start the movie with a flashback to Mystiques and Charles aka Professor X childhood when they first met and her younger self is played by Morgan Lily. For the majority of the movie Mystique goes by her given name of Raven. Raven and the other characters join the government where she meets other mutants. It's here that she gives herself the name of Mystique and meets Magneto aka Erik Lensherr. In this movie we see Mystique trying to discover and come to terms with what she is and how she fits in the world. She begins to hate humanity and Charles ideals of being a part of the world. She joins Erik at the end of the movie to be against humanity because they will never be accepted by them. Mystique is a more prominent character in the reboot and will continue to be for the next installments.
Different blue but still great looking

The most recent movie is X-Men: Days of Future Past directed by Bryan Singer (finally!) and Jennifer is still Mystique.  This movie sort of serves as a fix-it-all for the franchise (courtesy of The Last Stand) and we are taken to the chaotic world that the X-Men in the future. We don’t see Mystique until Wolverine is sent to the past because of the whole losing powers in the Last Stand thing. When we travel to the past we are post First Class and Mystique and Erik are no longer together with him being locked up and all. She is on her own mission to kill the creator of the sentinels (Dr. Trask) which is what plagues the X-Men in the future and the event that Wolverine is sent back to prevent. Mystique is very upset with her situation and Erik for the way that her fellow member were killed and used for experiments. She is a very strong character with conflating emotions and thoughts. She's also still upset with Charles for trying to control her and make her fit in with the humans in First Class. By the end of the movie neither Mystique nor Erik kill Dr. Trask and the future is fixed with the mutants no longer being hunted. And Mystique goes off on her own again. This change nullifies the first three movies and sets the stage for new exciting things to come.
Ready for action

The next appearance for Mystique is X-Men: Apocalypse directed once again Bryan Singer and Jennifer returning to play Mystique. Whether there will be another X-Men movie after that is unclear with other projects taking center stage. And if they do continue with the franchise Jennifer won't be returning as Mystique, but not to worry Patrick Stewart has said he will take her place so all is good :). So until that movie comes out have a great weekend everyone!

Puurfect DC

Catwoman aka Selina Kyle has always been one of my favorite characters from the Batman movies. Perhaps her best appearance is in Tim Burton's Batman Returns. Here she is played by the beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer. Here we see Selina Kyle become the Catwoman in a glorious montage in her apartment when she returns from "dying" and becomes another person. And she decides this is the best moment to make a super sexy leather costume to run around doing bad things in. And while she's running into Batman and Penguin as Catwoman her Selina persona is getting closer to Bruce Wayne aka Batman (for those that don't know ;p ). But Tim Burton does a great job in executing Catwoman in all her adventure loving ways and the importance of her relationship with Batman. She has some pretty cool action scenes and is a wonderful scene grabber. Plus she had an awesome costume that hasn't been matched by anyone else so far.
Puurfection

The next portrayal of Catwoman that we see is in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises where she is played by Anne Hathaway. Here we see more attention given to her anti-hero side as ,while she doesn't agree with it, she helps Batman in his endeavors. This movie doesn't go into her origins. but does focus more on her thief background. Her costume is also more like Batman's with her having a utility belt to play with and her cat ears are actually goggles with nifty features. Her Selina Kyle persona also still gets in close with Batman as she is the one to run away with him. And she has some awesome action sequences and kicks lots of ass in her impressive heels.
Cat's Meow
No Catwoman has been announced for the Batman reboot yet but she may come out again some where down the line. Until then have a great week everyone!

(In case anyone is wondering where the 2004 Catwoman movie is: the reason it isn't included is because the character that is called catwoman is Patience Phillips and not Selina Kyle making her an invalid addition. Plus it was a terrible movie anyway.)
